About ME
Hi! I’m Ruth and I’m the designer and maker behind Ruth Sims Handmade Jewellery.
I’ve always loved creating, but my passion for jewellery began as a teenager when I took a course at the School of Jewellery, Birmingham City University. That's where my love for making (and my slight obsession with tools) really started!
Today, I design and handcraft minimalist, timeless pieces that are made to be worn every day and treasured for years to come.
My Journey
A few years after my daughter Ava was born, I was ready for a new challenge and discovered Jewellers Academy. Their online courses gave me the perfect opportunity to deepen my skills, and I went on the complete a Diploma in Silver Jewellery, a Diploma in Fine Jewellery, and the Advanced Jewellery Diploma.
After a career in finance, I finally took the leap to follow my passion and turn jewellery-making into my business - something I had always dreamed of doing.
