My story
Hi! I’m Ruth and I’m the designer and maker behind Ruth Sims Handmade Jewellery.
I’ve always loved making and creating. My passion for jewellery started with a course at the School of Jewellery, Birmingham City University as a teenager, this is also where I think my tool obsession started! Since then, I have completed a number of short courses, and love learning new skills.
My Qualifications
A couple of years after my daughter Ava was born, I was looking for my next learning avenue and found Jewellers Academy, which offered online learning, which was perfect. I completed a Diploma in Silver Jewellery with Jewellers Academy and I'm due to start a Diploma in Fine Jewellery shortly.
Following a career in Finance (that supported the tool enthusiasm), I found myself with an opportunity to follow my passion.

My inspiration for my jewellery comes from mid-century design and geometric form. I love the sleek, minimalist, clean and curved lines that give it an enduring beauty, and incorporate this into my jewellery to give my customers a piece of timeless elegance they can wear for years to come.
